Personalization as a key in interior design

In the world of interior design, each project is a reflection of the personality and needs of those who inhabit it. On this occasion, we spoke with Luana García, interior designer from the Aedificare studio, to learn more about her design philosophy, the importance of personalization and her work with the Atelier of Bathco.

A study that highlights personalization

Aedificare is an interior design studio that combines design with the execution of works. Their specialty not only covers the creation of homes, hotels, restaurants or clinics, but also the rehabilitation of old homes. This approach allows them to transform spaces with meticulous attention to detail, adapting each project to the specific needs of their clients.

Customization is a central axis in Aedificare’s philosophy. “Our way of working is as if we were making a tailor-made suit for each client,” explains Luana. To achieve this, they need suppliers who offer multiple options and materials that allow them to adapt to the expectations of each project. The variety in finishes and designs is key to ensuring that each space is unique and represents the identity of those who enjoy it.

The bathroom: a leading space

Often relegated to the background in interior design projects, the bathroom occupies a place of great importance in Aedificare’s designs. “For us, the bathroom is a key point where we can reserve aesthetic resources that we don’t always use in the rest of the home,” says Luana. In many of their projects, this room becomes an unexpected surprise, with innovative materials and striking designs. An example of this is the Ofelia Clinic, where the bathroom was conceived as the surprise point of the project.

The choice of materials is fundamental in bathroom design, as each project has its own character. “Designing a Mediterranean bathroom, where a stone sink fits perfectly, is not the same as designing a bathroom in a clinic, where perhaps porcelain or metal are more suitable,” explains Luana. In this sense, Bathco offers a wide catalogue with materials such as stone, solid surface and metal, providing the versatility that interior designers need.

Working with Bathco Atelier

One of Aedificare’s most special projects has been the La Voladora restaurant, where the artists from Bathco Atelier played a fundamental role. “We wanted the highlight of the project to be a huge mural that recalled the old facades of Santander, with those Portuguese murals that we like so much,” says Luana. To do this, they worked closely with the artists from the Atelier, who hand-painted 512 tiles to bring the idea to life. “The process was super fun and easy, and the result couldn’t have been more spectacular,” she says.

For Aedificare, working with a company like Bathco, which values design and customization, is a great advantage. “We are lucky to have Bathco here in Cantabria; for us it is an indispensable resource,” concludes Luana.

At Aedificare, they show us that interior design goes beyond aesthetics: it is a combination of creativity, functionality and, above all, a deep connection with the desires of each client. And in that path, customization and the choice of materials play an essential role in achieving spaces with soul.
