There are fewer and fewer rules when it comes to decorating the bathroom. Before it was a forgotten and functional space, but now the focus is on trends in interior design and decoration that break established barriers.
It is true that the freedom of choice in the bathroom is limited because they are usually small spaces and with several previously installed elements that impede mobility. In addition, we have preconceived ideas that limit our imagination, but whoever knows how to break these limitations achieves unique spaces.
Below we show you examples of unique bathrooms that flee from the established to turn the moment of cleaning into a special time.
Run away from white
One of the most difficult prejudices to break when creating a bathroom is that of color. White has been the preference for symbolizing hygiene and purity, but Cumulolimbo studio radically breaks with this idea in its Huellas house project. In the bathroom, garnet and salmon are the protagonists of the room and highlight the black taps and the Río de Bathco stone basin.
Full colour
The first thought that comes to mind when we think of the washbasin is white porcelain. But what would happen if we replaced porcelain with Solid Surface and applied color? Well, a bathroom like The Mini apartment by Boca Concept emerges. A sliding door gives access to this bathroom where we see blue parquet with marbled tiles on the walls. The yellow Trieste washbasin is placed on a narrow white countertop and with black taps.

Femenine touch
Noé Prades was clear that he wanted to give a feminine character with pink colors in Proyecto Llança .
The interior designer takes up the mid-century influence and designs mirrors divided by a central wall light, reinforcing the curved shapes. The floors and walls are covered up to half height with hydraulics in pink colors with curved and carefree shapes and two Solid Surface Trieste basins by Bathco are placed on a suspended countertop.

Divide the washbasin area
If pastel tones predominate in a project, it is very likely that the architecture of Patricia Bustos is behind it. This is the case of this bathroom in a Madrid apartment full of surprises, imagination and colour. Bustos tells AD magazine that the owners “wanted something original and different, a fresh but inspiring house. The owner loves to travel and she needed her refuge in the capital to reflect a dynamic and cosmopolitan atmosphere”.
The interior designer proposed a bespoke design for the bathroom, two marble vanity areas, the circular Dinan washbasin and mirrors that adapt to the space along with the 1960s French herons that she found in Portici.

Terrazzo bathroom
The bathroom interior of Hrvst house by Voood Inc. is designed in a natural palette using dark powdered leather and terrazzo textures on the tiles. Matte and raw textures create a subtle differentiation between flat and contoured surfaces. The rectangular Olea washbasin with copper valve is placed on the terrazzo top unit.
Terrazzo is once again very present in another of the projects of this studio. The Alba house covers the floor and walls in which the Solid Surface Barros pedestal stands out.

XL terrazo
The owners of this apartament want to put it up for rent and find tenants soon, so they turn to the Concept Jo Ana studio to design a project that stands out from the rest of the apartments that exist in the real estate market.
The interior designers opted for neutral tones in this bathroom and played with the uniqueness of the terrazzo. for warm beige, brown and white that always works well. Interior designer Joanna Ochota says that they opted for “a neutral base, to add stronger accents in the form of accessories. In addition, we applied a bright and natural background and a stronger terrazzo accent with colored spots that will make the rental offer not without interest.”

The Aedificare studio has renovated a farmhouse in the heart of Sardinero de Santander and they call it Viento en popa. There we find two bathrooms. In the first, the absolute protagonist is the second class Titanic washbasin on a vintage console with macael marble top cut to measure, built-in bronze taps and delicate ceramics that make everything fit perfectly.
The second bathroom is also taken care of in detail and at the whim of some very special clients, there you can find the New Nordic washbasin.
